Dare me – I’ll take the challenge

The last 26 years I have been working on my own personal style. It hasn’t been easy that much I can say. I went through periods of “Gothic clothes and flaming red hair”, “everything the color pink” as well as “simply Jeans and T-Shirt”. Today, I am on my way to build a closet combining classical basics and pieces with a special touch. I am frequently inspired by the styles of the 1950s as well as the Golden Age.

I find new amazing pieces that could fit my wardrobe all the time, but my closet space doesn’t allow impetuous shopping sprees anymore. I need to work more with what I already own. Last year, Kendi of Kendi Everyday has started a challenge to work the contents of her closet and learn how to remix outfits in totally new ways.  She selected 30 pieces from her wardrobe and for 30 days remixed these into different outfits without using any other clothes from her closet.

On February 1st, she will start a new round and challenges bloggers around the world to join her in her quest to build a great wardrobe for each and every participant.
One important detail of the challenge is to not go shopping for these 30 days. The time should be used to reassess the contents of the closet, which piece works and what is still needed to complement the rest of the wardrobe.

Kendi, I accept this challenge!

To make it official, here are my 30 selected items!

{ From left: C&A; Vero Moda; Gina Tricot; H&M }

{ From left: Bon Prix; H&M; C&A; Ernsting´s Family }

{ all H&M }

{ all Deichmann }

For me, the next 30 days will be a way to find new clothing combinations and work with what I got. I also hope to consistently post my selected outfits.

Clearly, the hardest part will be to stop shopping (at least that is how it feels right now, ask me again after Day 20 should I have run out of remixing ideas). The Spring collections will be released to the stores soon and temptations will linger around every corner. I say: Bring it on, I am ready and will lock away my credit cards! (Maybe I should also block some of my favorite online shops, just in case.)

omg, that really is going to be the hardest part... no shopping. i don't want to admit it to myself... but i have got at least 10 items in my closet who have not only been never worn... but still have the tags on! I think I should do one of these too.
