Laughing out loud

This is yesterdays' outfit. I came home so late and had to go for a doctor’s appointment really early. So here is day 14 of my 30 for 30 challenge. I don’t seem to be able to get away from this playground! It just has the best lighting in the afternoon and is so close to my place. Still no going down the slide though. I will soon, I promise!

What I wore (apart from the 30x30 pieces, find these here)

Tights: Esda
Socks: Takko Fashion
Ring: H&M
Headband: Claire's Dublin
Belt: Thrifted; Helsinki flea market
Necklace with watch: Gina Tricot (was pink originally, I took that part off)

In the afternoon, I went to visit my old Au Pair organization with my sister. I was an Au Pair in NYC 2003-2004. It was one of the best experiences of my life so far and it has really formed me as a person the way I am today. I was lucky to watch two extremely cute children, a boy and a girl, and lived with a wonderful family in Brooklyn Heights close to the Brooklyn Bridge. I also really developed my photography skills during courses I took at Cooper Union Art College and with the help of my photographer host dad. After this amazing experience, I was in love with the American culture, the language and with Photography as well. Of course, my studies are now based on American culture and intercultural communication. Photography has been a constant companion since then and I hope to further develop my skills in the future. Who knows what will happen!?

My sister is now thinking of applying as an Au Pair next year as well. It is amazing to see her grow up and it makes me proud that I was able to be a good role model. I will help her in every way I can!

Later that day, I met up with my flatmates and a friend and together we went to the movies. We watched a German production called “Kokowääh”. The movie is about a guy (Til Schweiger) that suddenly finds his until then unknown daughter (Emma Schweiger) waiting on his doorstep. He is totally thrown out of his usual rhythm and doesn’t know how to handle this situation. He never saw himself becoming a father and while trying to handle life, work and love, he also needs to find a common ground with the man that has been raising the little girl so far. It is a comedy about life, learning and growing up with wonderful actors! I haven’t seen a really good German production in a while, but this was funny!! Also, the soundtrack is amazing. Might just have to get that one!

Awesome mix of black and brown, I am always afraid to do that. And the top is adorable.
