Wedding styling

I probably have talked way to many times about my friend J.'s wedding during the last 8 months, but this will be the last time as she and her financé got married last friday. It was a wonderful day and also a very stressful day. I have been involved in every part of the planning process and most likely knew best how she wanted her day to look like. I supported her with her hair and makeup in the morning and after the ceremony coordinated the decorations of the reception area.

A lot of the decorations were DIY projects or little things that we have been working on for the past months and it felt nice to finally see it all come together. As the weather played tricks on us, we decided to decorate the indoor location and only kept a small part of the decorations outdoors. Even though the sun came out in the afternoon, we played it save and decorated the top floor of the barn that was planned as the reception location. In the end, it looked romantic and layed back with a bit of a rustic flair! The couple wanted a garden party atmosphere and even though we celebrated inside, the feeling was there.

Her bouquet was made of white Hydrangea and small Sunflowers, her favorite flowers, which we also incorporated everywhere in the barn for decorations to add to the rustic athmosphere.

I wore a dress that has been one of my favorites for years, but hasn't gotten a lot of outings recently. As my friend planned on a retro look for her wedding dress and the outfit of the groom, the guests coordinated their  own outfits accordingly (actually it wasn't requested, but worked really well)!

I added a small bolero and my black petticoat, some blue jewelry and my vintage bag to complete the look.

To keep my hair out of the way for the day, I put it into a beehive updo (I refrained from teasing too much, to keep it low and not take any attention from J's hair!) I used Carrie's tutorial for it.
