The Green Citadel - Hunderwasser - sleeping in a place with rounded corners

Time flies - It feels like we just came back from our little trip to Magdeburg, a wonderful city in Germany, but it's already 2 months since we returned. While we are lounging on the porch of our little cottage in Finland, called Mökki in Finnish, I wanted to share my favourite spot of Magdeburg with you. We will definitely go there again as it is a beautiful city!
This is the Green Citadel, our hotel for the time and a beautiful sight in one. It was designed by famous architect and artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser

The building is one of a kind and just amazing to look at. The hotel is on one floor, on top of a shopping street with little stores, cafés and even a kindergarten. On the higher floors it is a common appartment building with several different sized appartments. It is typical for Hundertwasser buildings to include more than one function in one building and the Green Citadel is no exception.

We were staying in a standard hotel room at the Art Hotel Magdeburg.

The rooms are also influenced by Hundertwasser and his love for rounded edges. Especially the bathroom is worth a look!!

During our 3 night stay, we also got to spend a night at the sauna area (free of charge) and really had a wonderful relaxing evening there just the two of us!

Breakfast is always served in the rooms due to a missing restaurant, but I think this makes it just so much more enjoyable. The breakfast costs around 17€ per person, but is well invested and definitely too much. One can make sandwiches for lunch and is even provided a lunch box to take out!

I normally don't write recommendations like this and I am definitely not compensated for this post. It's all my honest opinion and I can really recommend this hotel!!
