Day at the steps

Well, this post comes a bit belated as we have had some internet problems during our stay in the finnish forest. We are already back from our trip to the WRC Rallye championships in Finland. Mr.B is a HUGE rallye fan and we managed to put it in our holiday schedule.

As we had a really early flight to Helsinki on Tuesday, we stayed in Berlin at a friends' place overnight and only traveled to the airport the next morning. The early flight had the advantage of a full day in Helsinki. My friend J. and her husband are letting us stay at their place and also spent the two days prior to the rallye with us. I have seen quite a lot of Finland already, but Mr.B hasn't been here before. This gave us the opportunity to explore the city once more, starting with the biggest sights.

The white cathedral is probably one of the biggest landmarks in Helsinki and can be seen from quite afar.

We spend the afternoon on the steps of the cathedral. Lucky us, we had amazing weather and we even ended up with a little sunburn.

The lutheran church is puristic, but very beautiful from the inside and I love taking photos there!

We also had a little snack of buns, strawberries and cherries while enjoying the view of the waterfront near the main harbor of Helsinki. The big church in the background is the Uspenski cathedral, the largest orthodox church in the country - very beautiful from the inside, but we didn't visit it that day.

Happy Sunday - more fashion to come in the next posts!
