LBD for Christmas

1-IMG_9632

Wearing all black for an advent dinner. This dress has been waiting for its' first outing for a couple of weeks and now it is finally time. I opted for all black and some pearl accessories to give it a classic look. The LBD is always a good idea to be well dressed. This new version with its' eyelet fabric is not too chic and will work well also as an office outfit with some less fancy accessories.

Fashion Archives - New Years Eve look

1-IMG_1493

This year we spent our New Years Eve in Finland in the middle of nowhere in the ice-cold with a snow storm fast approaching. I definitely didn't wear something extremely fancy and therefore have no outfit photos to share, BUT and now this is funny, I forgot to post the look from last year even though I had taken some photos from that night. Still love that look and would wear it all over again would I still own that shirt (RIP). The skirt used to be an 80s bodycon dress with that itchy glitter material, but I had it made into a skirt which has been a staple in my closet ever since. Perfect for the festive season and then one needs something super comfortable with elastic waist that doesn't look like it one bit. I added a similar skirt with sequins to my closet this year and wore it a lot during our Christmas outings. What is your uniform for special occasions where you still want to feel comfortable aka you gotta eat a lot?

Christmas Day Sparkles

1-IMG_6053

Our Christmas was full of festivities and I wore a couple of my more sparkling outfits. This look is actually quite basic, but I felt like a million bucks with this black sparkling pencil skirt. Paired with a red blouse, this is my favourite color combination this Christmas.

New Year's Eve Look 2017

After celebrating the wedding of Mr.B's sister in this amazing dress by LindyBop, I decided to get it in red for Christmas in the Black Friday sales. They sent it to me quickly, but it did arrive labeled wrong. I got one size smaller than I wanted. As the dress was on sale, shipping it back would have been quite expensive AND after it was all settled with the refund the dress was out of stock. Thankfully, I could keep the mislabeled dress and it just about fits. Might have to loose a couple of pounds for it to fit nicely, but I still love it. Added some sparkle to the look and wore my new golden bag that Mr.B gifted me for Christmas! Perfect Christmas Day outfit, but would also look very nice for New Years Eve.
With that I wish you all the best for 2018! We will celebrate with friends and our little cat is hopefully not too scared by the fireworks.

60s wedding guest

1-IMG_7627

I recently was invited to my sister-in-law's wedding and decided to wear a twin piece by Lindy Bob, as it was an October wedding and I definitely wanted to wear a dress with a matching jacket. That is not an easy task when it comes to reproduction or vintage pieces. Not a lot of companies produce matching jackets to their dresses that I liked, but this Marianne Swing dress in Teal was the perfect choice. I love the fit of the dress and jacket, with a long enough hem line for my preference and the 3/4 length arms. The color is so fresh and I got a lot of compliments on my bold choice. The fabric is nice and heavy and the skirt swings well. I did wear a petticoat underneath for that extra puff, but you could wear it on its' own as well. I did want to wear light colored accessories with the look, but when the day came, the weather was really bad with a lot of rain and I didn't want to ruin my beige shoes, therefore I opted for all black accessories. These mary jane shoes are a total staple in my wardrobe and I currently own them in 5 different colors. One for every occasion, but these black ones are never a bad choice.

4th of July look

1-IMG_4954

This look definitely comes a little late, as the 4th July was like 3 weeks ago, but I still wanted to share this look.  My history with America is well known and I still love this country. It holds a special place in my heart and I do feel a little patriotic every July. My time in the USA was special and I love wearing red white and blue for Independence Day. This look is also special as I got this dress at VivienofHolloway during my trip to London in May. The kitty dress is a vintage reproduction style right up my alley with wooden buttons, front pockets, an original 40s cut and this beautiful Hawaiian print. I just had to have it and could see myself buying it in more patterns as well!
