Burgund for Winter

1-IMG_9506-001

This dress has been my favourite these past months. I love the rose print and the comfort of the jersey top. It fits well and gives me a put together look that works well for work and for parties. Wore this on Christmas day and had all eyes on me. Sadly the skirt got stuck on the rose bushes on the way and I got a little tear in my skirt. Hope I can repair it.

LBD for Christmas

1-IMG_9632

Wearing all black for an advent dinner. This dress has been waiting for its' first outing for a couple of weeks and now it is finally time. I opted for all black and some pearl accessories to give it a classic look. The LBD is always a good idea to be well dressed. This new version with its' eyelet fabric is not too chic and will work well also as an office outfit with some less fancy accessories.

Flannel dress - yes, please!

1-IMG_7416

This Spring we have been experiencing ups and downs in weather that made me keep my warmer dresses out for just a bit longer and it gives me an excuse to introduce my lumberjack flannel dress here on the blog. I love the soft fabric and I feel instantly well-dressed for work. It is one of my more casual pieces, but it is oh so comfortable. In combination with black accessories it works really well and I can see myself wearing this a lot in Autumn and Winter as well. During that day it was especially cold and I added this warm and fluffy sweater to the outfit. It kept me nice and warm all day. Definitely had to pack that one away already, but it will be back out in Autumn for sure.

Pinks and Blues for Spring

1-IMG_5715

We are currently experiencing the real April weather. One day it is sunny with almost 20 degrees Celcius and the next day we experience minus degrees, snow, hail and all kinds of weird combinations. The first flowers do blossom, but this cold destroys most of them quickly and we do have lots of grey days where only bright colors can chear up the mood. I tend to wear something more colorful during those days and this is one of those looks. This dress is easy to throw on for work or a coffee date with friends and the blue peplum jacket is a definite favourite with all my swing dresses and skirts. This might just turn into one of my staples for 2019. What are your tips for grey days?

Marine Chic

1-IMG_4791

Twice a year is the biggest time for sales and I do try to stay away from them as best I can. Still, the promotion emails show up and one gets tempted to buy new things. This happens especially with me and vintage reproduction brands. Most of them are quite affordable, but I do like the UK-based brands Vivien of Holloway and Collectif. They produce in the UK and the products seem good quality and well made. They are pricey though and with shipping, it adds up. I often shop only during the sales and this year I got lucky with this amazing peplum blazer. I got my great winter coat and lots of cardigans as wardrobe staples, but I was missing a fitted blazer to wear with all my dresses. Here, I paired it with one of my dresses from Eshakti, my other sale weakness. It seems that every dress I currently wear comes from that brand. Their deals are great and I get tempted quite often. This black dress for example is a great staple to have. I might have to get it in another color combination soon. Wore this look for a family birthday lunch and felt well dressed.

Floral Berries

1-IMG_2449

I am in the mood for all things floral right now! That's what Spring usually does to me, it's nothing ground-breaking, but florals are in style each Spring so why not embrace it!? I am starting small with this skirt that has a cool poppy print, which fades away close to the waistline. I added a simple knit top, my favourite denim jacket and a strawberry wicker bag to the outfit. It feels good to dress for Spring and this look has been one favourite so far.

Strawberries

1-IMG_6816

I have been a little MIA, because we are still moving house. It has been a working process and now our little kitten joined our family and needs a lot of attention. Outfits and fashion have been a little bit less important even though I got this beautiful walk-in closet now. Sadly, haven't had a lot of time to utilize it, but will make it work. This look that I am posting here today has been on my mind for a while, but I only managed to wear it now. I got the strawberry dress as my first ever 50s inspired reproduction dress several years back and always had a full on strawberry look in mind. This summer, I finally got the matching strawberry wicker bag to the dress and some time back, my mom got those swarovsky crystal earrings for me on during one of her vacations. It's a dream combination.

Porcelain chic

1-IMG_7989

When I saw this dress online I was instantly smitten by the print, the design and I just had to have it. Currently I am getting more into wearing dresses again and I was on the lookout for a white (but not wedding dress white) dress. I opted for the blue floral print by Collectif and was so glad that I did when it finally arrived in the mail. It's my first Collectif clothing piece and I love the fit and material. It feels so well made and looks very nice.

My boss actually called me his porcelain girl that day and I do agree that the print looks just like china ware. I did pair it with my favourite denim jacket to make it more casual, but also added my new Clarks pumps as they are so nice and the light color might be difficult to wear in the upcoming months, but I did want to debut them here on the blog still! I think they will look great with my fancier dresses for nice parties (maybe even during the Christmas season when the weather is nice) and hope to walk them in quickly as they are still a bit stiff due to the material. I went with silver jewelry this time, but I think it will look just as great with gold or rose gold accessories.

You can wear it two ways - with a modest and a more revealing cleavage, but both felt great. I did go with the more modest version for work, though! The back is quite low cut for my taste and showed my tanning marks and sun spots/freckles, but my hair covers most of it, so it feels fine to me. Have you had any experiences with Collectif clothing dresses? I feel that this dress runs true to size and the length is perfect for me. As a tall girl (6'3''), I struggle even with midi dresses to find nice ones that will cover my knee cabs as I prefer this look when it comes to skirt length. This one ends just under the knee and feels fine though. It is a little large in the bust for me, so will also fit girls with a larger bosom. The short sleeves do run a little large, which is actually good for me, but might be disturbing for others. All in all this is a wonderful addition to my collection and I can see myself wearing it a lot.
