Archive find: Pink Fling

This has been an archive find. I opened blogger after a long time and this post was waiting to be posted. Well, better late than never! Here is a true pink look that has been a constant in my wardrobe for a while. I habe to say that I have given the shoes and the cardigan to goodwill since taking these outfits but they have been replaced by very similar pieces. A good pair of pumps and cardigans are just staples in my wardrobe.

Christmas Day Sparkles

1-IMG_6053

Our Christmas was full of festivities and I wore a couple of my more sparkling outfits. This look is actually quite basic, but I felt like a million bucks with this black sparkling pencil skirt. Paired with a red blouse, this is my favourite color combination this Christmas.

Marine Chic

1-IMG_4791

Twice a year is the biggest time for sales and I do try to stay away from them as best I can. Still, the promotion emails show up and one gets tempted to buy new things. This happens especially with me and vintage reproduction brands. Most of them are quite affordable, but I do like the UK-based brands Vivien of Holloway and Collectif. They produce in the UK and the products seem good quality and well made. They are pricey though and with shipping, it adds up. I often shop only during the sales and this year I got lucky with this amazing peplum blazer. I got my great winter coat and lots of cardigans as wardrobe staples, but I was missing a fitted blazer to wear with all my dresses. Here, I paired it with one of my dresses from Eshakti, my other sale weakness. It seems that every dress I currently wear comes from that brand. Their deals are great and I get tempted quite often. This black dress for example is a great staple to have. I might have to get it in another color combination soon. Wore this look for a family birthday lunch and felt well dressed.

Life in a small town

1-IMG_3537

Last summer, we moved to the small city that I have been working in for the past years. It's been a challenge to adjust, but one thing that I am not sorry about is the amount of nature that we are surrounded with. Our dream has always been a house in Finland, but we have decided to stay in Germany and make this our forever home. It is great to have forest and mountains similar to finnish nature to make life just a bit more green. These photos have been taken on a walk around our new home town. I wore my favourite floor-length dress and cleaned the grounds with it :D Being fashionable in a place like this has its' downsides! Definitely need to think of that before ordering a new dress in that length.
Has anyone else had this happen to them that they felt their style changed with their move to a new home/house? I do feel like that is currently happening to me. I still love me a good dress, but it has to be more fuss-free, with less poof and more practicality. I do like intricate designs, but they have to be easy to work in and I need to be able to put them on alone. Now that we moved, Mr.B leaves the house one hour earlier and I often dress only after he has left. If I can't zip it up myself, it's no good for my every day life anymore. I started loving wrap dresses for this exact reason!!

My new home - living in a small town has its' advantages. Nature is not far and it feels like living more connected in that sense. Otherwise it has its' downsides as well as we live more secluded from friends and family as well. We do need to make more of an efford to see people now, but it is of course worth it.

Florals and Stripes, best print remix

1-IMG_2478

The combination of stripes and floral prints are some of my favourite remixes and this look is a pretty good example. This skirt has been a pretty bold choice and I am glad that I got it a couple of years back. I added the cardigan and floral blouse in mint and my new bast bag. I used to be a bit more coy with the print mixing, but it feels good to be a bit more bold with my choices.

The last of Winter in Spring

1-IMG_1783

So here it goes! We finally can say that it is Spring here as well. The snow that you see in those pictures is gone now and we got nice Spring weather. I have been living in my dresses and denim jackets for the past couple of days and am enjoying the warmer temperatures. As it is April now, we are expecting weird weather and I won't put my coats away just yet as well as my boots. This look is my final real Winter outfit, even though I got a couple of outfits prepared with remnants of snow in the background.

Here I am wearing my new Eshakti dress. It is quite long, going down to mid-calf and I think it is a better fit for Spring and Summer without tights and just some cute little sandals to show more skin. Still love the print, but the fit is just a little off. I tried the customizing option, but did not add the measurements between shoulder and waist, which makes the only issue here (which is totally my own fault!). The waist band sits just a little low, which you can see down in the closeup with my rosé belt. Otherwise I love Eshakti as I can finally buy dresses and other pieces fit for my height and figure. I love their variety and the customizing option on each of the items and then fitting them to my measurements. I added my new camera bag to the look as it works really well as a handbag as well.

Rosé and aquamarin

1-IMG_8142

These photos were taken during the amazingly warm end of October when we had a day of nearly 20 degrees and then it dropped to minus 2 and snow in about 48 hours. I really love this look though and still wanted to share it. I can never get enough of this skirt. I love the color and it is so effordless, easy to style and always works well with any mood.
