Paris 2018 - Snapshots of our favourite Disney moments

1-IMG_3325

While in Paris one has to visit Disneyland. That's at least my opinion. When I was a small child, my sister and I used to watch our favourite Disney movies on VHS and I can still recite most of the texts today. My family always tried to do lots of wonderful holiday events, but Disneyland was just out of reach for us. When I was 19 and my parents visited me in America during my stay as an Au Pair, we finally managed to visit Disneyland in Anaheim. It was a dream come true. My entire family was mesmerized and my sister and I have been collectors ever since. With the recent releases of Disney movies and new productions, the world is full of merchandise. But nothing is as amazing as experiencing one of the parks. Mr.B is not the biggest fan, but he loves rollercoasters. I got him to come a second time to Disneyland with the promise of riding all the crazy rollercoasters with him. (I did chicken out of a couple, but I was quite brave!) Here are some snapshots from our time at Disneyland, which has been already one year ago!

Paris 2018 - Disney Studios Park

1-IMG_3243

For our second day at Disneyland Paris, we decided to go to the Studios Park for most of the day and just went to Disneyland for the Fireworks. I wore my Vixen by Micheline Pitt skirt and felt dressed appropriately, more 50s diner style and less french chic.

I met my girl Minnie Mouse! I am not one to stand in line for lots of character meet ups. Mr.B gets bored as well and we wanted to enjoy the time together. We actually met lots of our favourite characters during our last visit when we ate at Mickey's Café and I felt ok with not meeting any this time, but when the line for Minnie was that short (20min wait), I had to meet her.

We went on all the rides that were new and saw the Mickey the Magician show - so cute!! Also walked by while Goofie, Mickey and Pluto had their meet-ups. Just took a quick photo of each of them.

My favourite ride - the flying carpets! The app said sth about 20min wait, so not true! More like 60min. The update needs to get better and we were really done after waiting that long.

We had visited Paris and Disneyland 2016 and we both loved it there! Last time we only had one day at Disneyland and the Studios and both felt that this was not enough time to see everything. Also, the two parks had been under major constructions during that visit and a lot of attractions had been closed for renovations. For our 7th anniversary (and because we are skipping the summer vacation due to our house renovations) we booked a 5 day trip to Paris and this time booked a 3-day pass for both parks, which gave us plenty of time to enjoy all the rides that we loved and the ones we hadn't tried before. I had picked a couple of my favourite outfits especially for this trip and here is my first look. This black and white Eshakti dress screams Paris to me and it is made of such a comfortable material that is fuss-free and since then has been one of my go-to work outfits. My trusty denim jacket is perfect for all the looks and worked so well during this warm and sunny trip with cold and windy mornings where layers had been key. The Minnie Mouse bag by Primark had been such an amazing accessory and I got several people asking about it.

One place I really wanted to visit was Adventureland and all its' attractions as they had been closed off in 2016. We loved all the roller coasters (Big Thunder Mountain was awesome!!), but I really enjoyed the Pirates of the Caribbean and La Cabane des Robinson. We did try to see all the things still on our list, but had to miss out on some re-rides as the time was just not enough. I was especially sad about Le Carrousel de Lancelot, Dumbo the Flying Elephant and the Mad Hatter's Tea Cups (which was closed this time). Due to my injured back, I had to stay away from a lot of the 360° roller coasters, but I enjoyed every second of our time in Disneyland!! Stay tuned for more looks and snapshots from our stay in Paris.

Travel Diary - Disneyland and Disney Studios Paris

8-IMG_2767

One of my favourite moments of this year so far has been the trip to Paris with Mr.B, a trip that I have been dreaming of since 7th grade when I first started French classes and this year it finally became true. I have shown you some of the highlights of that trip already, but the best thing for a girl was probably Disneyland! I have visited Disneyland in Anaheim, California 13 years ago and ever since knew that I would be back in Disneyland one day. This day was awesome and I can't describe all the emotions that I felt, but want to show you through some (ok, a lot of) pictures.

Dumbo the flying Elephant - just awesome and saved it for last!!

The Carousel of Lancelot looked stunning, but the ride was a little short. Glad I went on another ride when we visited the Eiffel Tower.

The parade was great! Seeing all the characters, but I did miss Daisy Duck and Belle and all the characters of Beauty and the Beast. It is a story situated in a French village after all and I was sad that Frozen got so much attention, but my favourite movie of all time was really neglected in Paris. Hope it will change during the 25th anniversary celebrations next year.

The light show at night - Disney Dreams - was amazing and a great finish to our day at Disneyland!

We also visited Disney Studios that day and it was great for Mr.B as most rollercoasters at Disneyland were closed for renovations, but the Disney Studios still have a couple of great ones! I would recommend visiting the Studios at another day though, to have more time for each park.

Mr.B loved this one, I didn't go. I don't like 360° rollercoasters. This also has a twist.

02-IMG_3045

And last but not least, Mr.B's favourite - crashing down with an elevator is not really my thing as we live on the 7th floor and take one every day, but he really liked this one and said it was his favourite of all.

It was a great day, but for the next visit, I want an entire weekend for both parks to have more time for all the great rides and actually hang out for a bit. I would also love to visit Disneyland in Tokio as they have a big part for Beauty and the Beast. Maybe one day! Are you a big Disneyland fan or do you think it is childish or overrated?
