Change of perception

Like every Friday, Katy of ModlyChic asked her fellow bloggers to answer some questions for the FBFF - Fashion Beauty Friend Friday. This week, she wants us to think about changes in our fashion preferences since we started Blogging, some odd things we never would have looked twice at before.

1.Since you began blogging do you notice a change in the types of things you gravitate towards while shopping?

Yes, definitely. I now really like vintage shopping - in thrift stores or at flea markets. I already liked searching for old fashioned accessories, but now I really like those clothes from past decades as well. I also check out almost every new trend in stores and try on some pieces. Who knows, maybe I think it doesn't work well as a trend, but maybe it actually suits me. I got a lot more confidence to try out new things.

2.Do you find, as a fashion blogger, that you dress differently from your family and friends? Do they comment on that?

Sometimes when showing up for Sunday lunch, my family looks at me in a strange way and then they drop comments like "Wow, you look dressed up for lunch!" or "What has gotten into you, pairing those two patterns together?". Well, they have gotten used to it all and it's quite the ritual of me and my sister now that we go out taking pictures at some time during those meetings and my parents don't even ask anymore. My mom even started to raid her closet for me and check through stuff she doesn't wair anymore - maybe I could use it. Same goes for Gran's and Greatgranny's closets :)

3.What’s the weirdest fashion that you secretly like, even if you aren’t bold enough to wear it?

Chino pants. I think they look weird, but oh so cute on all those small and petite ladies out there (like Emerald of Sunday Crossbow). I got some hips and those pants don't really make them look extra small. Also the short legs might make me look like I wear too short pants. Maybe I should just try it out!?

4.Looking at current trends – what would you like to try but need to build up the courage to do?

Bold color blocking. A bright red skirt and a bright pink shirt or top. I have seen this recently worn by Kendi ( or Kristina the other way around) and love the trend. I still need a bright pink shirt to actually wear this combination. Hope to find the perfect one soon and then I also hope to have the guts to actually wear it.

5.Toot someone’s horn – what fashion blogger out there inspires you with her bold fashion choices?

Tiffany of A Reason to be Fabulous has this amazing style. She combines all those bright colors, with super cute accessories and has those great DIY Projects going on as well. Can't get enough of her style that looks effortless, but oh so fabulous, just like she is!!

Hooray for vintage and thrift shops. I'm glad they're a blogger' secret weapon. I think you should try color blocking. Do it!

Uh, would love this to be my closet but it is an awesome thrift store in Helsinki!

That is some very bold colour blocking from Kendi - soooo cool though :) I love to colour block but don't usually dare to go all out like that - preferring to combine one bright coloured piece with more neutral pieces.

Great answers ! Unfortunately were short on vintage shops where I live. And you should definitely try color blocking, it's so much fun !
