Stepping outside of your clothing comfort zone

It is not unusual that we stick to things that are common to us, that we are comfortable with. I feel like this a lot when it comes to clothes. I often wear the same pieces in regular cycles and it is easy to pick the shirts on the top of the drawer again and again. I often have similar habits when shopping for new clothes, buying things that fit into this rut, but I have tried to change my rules for shopping a bit.

Some people told me, orange is not my color and I read somewhere that white skirts are not for curvy girls. I still tried on this white denim skirt at my local thrift store and it fit like a glove! I probably wouldn't have bought it at full prize, but it was a chance I took second hand. I like the outcome and it will hopefully transition nicely into fall. I paired it together with my orange loose shirt that was intended as a sports shirt and my new apricot cardigan that I actually wanted to buy in a nude tone, but the store didn't carry my size anymore. I really think this look has something. I will have to step out of that comfort zone more often in the future!

personally i think you look great in those colors. orange makes you look vibrant and alive and the skirt is very flattering on you! heck with what you read to the contrary--go with what you like and what you are comfortable in!
