Castle gardens

1-IMG_0381

We managed to spend a woderful afternoon at Castle Lichtenwalde and enjoyed a sunny afternoon at the gardens. While there, we saw several brides taking photos in these beautiful surroundings and I can only agree that it is definitely worth taking tons of photos there. We did the same :) So prepare for an overload of pictures. I did use this occasion to wear my new midi summer dress for the first time. I basically lived in it for the next days as well, but this was its' first outing! I have been on the lookout for one for ages. My mom used to have a floral dress with mille fleurs print during the 90s and I adored it, but sadly she got rid of it before I could claim it. Ever since, I wanted a dress with a modern fit, but retro print and I think that I finally found it. I added my favourite denim jacket and some white sneakers and felt put together all day! Do you have pieces of clothing that remind you of the past?

Watching the Stars

Last weekend, I had a little surprise planned for Mr.B. We both love to watch the stars on warm spring and summer nights and for our anniversary, I took him to our local planetarium to freshen up our knowledge about the galaxy, stars and planets. We both were mesmerized by all the wonderful pictures and can't wait to visit the planetarium and observatory again in the autumn for an evening of real star watching. My favorites were the Galilean moons, the four moons of Jupiter. They are so pretty! My favorite star constellation is orion, but all stars are so beautiful when they lighten up the sky!

Balloon life

This weekend was full of exciting events, one of them being the annual balloon festival in my home town. It was so nice that Mr.B. and I decided to spend Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon there. The biggest highlight was probably the glowing balloon show in the evening. We had one of the best spots and were able to spot how they filled the 18 big and small balloons and later let them glow. With some great background music, they performed a little light show and illuminated the cloudless night sky! What an amazing spectacle!

Amazonas – there and back in a day

On Saturday, I went to Leipzig together with my mom and sister to visit the Panometer. It is an amazing exhibition about the Amazonas. It shows a 30m high 360 panorama artwork depicting different scenarios of the Amazonas and its’ flora and fauna. The artist Yadegar Asisi from Berlin took pictures of the region for over two years and later merged details from more than 30.000 pictures into one huge panorama picture. The showcase is illuminated by light and on a platform the audience can spent time there experiencing artificial day and night in this amazing exhibit. With rented binoculars one can even see the small details.

It was a lot of fun and I could have searched for little animals and different flowers for ages. My mom and I, we both forgot our glasses though and had some discussions on smaller animals. Sometimes, we couldn’t distinguish a monkey from a parrot and guessed around a lot :)

The photos are once again courtesy of my sister. These old round brick buildings are great and I would have loved extra photo sessions just for the surroundings, but taking photos was prohibited both in the exhibition and on sight.

We left the exhibition and did some shopping in the city centre and had some yummy ice cream at the Italian Gelateria.
