Archive find - relaxed 50s look

This is a look that I found in my archives. I never got around to posting it. I didn't want to waste it as I especially love the unusual look with the head scarf and red lips. I remember trying out different  looks with the head scarf and liking it with the red lips and winged liner. Later that day we went for a stroll and I looked quite dolled up. I am not quite happy with the scarf look though, still need to perfect it!

Diese Fotos hab ich in meinem Fotoarchiv gefunden. Ich bin irgendwie nie dazu gekommen, es zu bloggen. Ich möchte es gerade wegen dem speziellen Look mit dem Haarband und den roten Lippen posten. Ich kann mich noch daran erinnern, wie ich an diesem Tag verschiedene Styles mit dem Haarband ausprobiert habe und am Ende gefiel mir das mit den roten Lippen und dem geschwungenen Eyeliner am besten. Für einen Spaziergang am Nachmittag war ich zwar viel zu stark geschminkt, aber ich fand den Look einfach so schön. Mit dem Haarband komme ich noch nicht ganz so gut zurecht, aber ich werde es noch perfektionieren und verschiedene Stylings probieren.

Look 2 - Smart Casual at Work

While most of my poor readers in the USA are freezing right now and have a ton of snow, we here in Germany have been missing out on the winter wonderland so far. It's been extremely warm for this time of year, with up to 15 degrees Celsius and more. Crazy weather. Some days we are greeted by an ice cold wind though and these photos were taken during an afternoon walk on one of those days. Mr.B and I really enjoyed the sunshine and took a lot of extra pictures that afternoon! Taking my nice coat of was hard though, because that wind gave me goose bumps in no time.

Während die meisten meiner US Amerikanischen Leser gerade frieren und einen Haufen Schnee haben, lässt das Winterwunderland bei uns noch auf sich warten. Es war extra warm in den letzten Wochen, bis zu 15 Grad Celcius und mehr. Verrückt! An einigen Tagen weht uns zumindest eine steife Brise um die Nase und diese Bilder wurden an einem solchen Tag aufgenommen. Mr.B und ich haben den Sonnenschein genossen und extra viele Fotos gemacht. Nur die Jacke auszuziehen, das viel mir richtig schwer, weil mir der Wind sofort Gänsehaut bereitet hat.

You can't see my feet on these pictures, but I am wearing the biker boots from this month's Shoe of the month challenge. They actually work well with my grey office pants and I can easily wear them as a kind of winter boots to work. The long slacks hide the embellishments and the shoes look more classy automatically. My tip for you: Try to dress your boots up instead of down once or twice. You might be surprised by the versatility of your shoes!

Man kann meine Füße nicht auf den Bildern sehen, aber ich trage die Biker Boots von meinem "Shoe of the month" Projekt. Sie sind sehr gut in Kombination mit meiner grauen Stoffhose und ich kann sie sehr gut als Winterstiefel zur Arbeit tragen. Die langen Hosen verstecken die Schmucksteine und lassen die Schuhe so viel klassischer wirken. 
Mein Tipp für euch: Versucht eure Biker Bookts einmal chic zu stylen anstatt leger. Vielleicht überrascht euch ja die Vielseitigkeit eurer Stiefel!

First day ... ah week of Christmas!

It's the first week of December already - time is running and I am in full Christmas mode. At home, I finally managed to decorate everything and I am so happy with the result! Can't wait to share a post with photos some time during the coming weekend. It's quite difficult to take photos after work these days. I have to take all my outfit photos during the weekend. I wore this look last weekend for a birthday party and love the look ever since wearing it.

Es ist mittlerweile die erste Dezemberwoche - die Zeit rennt und ich bin im Weihnachtsmodus. Zu Hause bin ich nun endlich fertig mit dem Dekorieren und ich bin wirklich glücklich mit dem Ergebnis! Ich freue mich darauf, einige Fotos am Wochenende hier auf dem Blog zu teilen. Leider ist es derzeit schwierig unter der Woche Fotos zu machen. Ich muss deshalb alle Outfitfotos am Wochenende machen. Ich habe diesen Look am vergangenen Wochenende zu einer Geburtstagsfeier zum ersten Mal getragen und liebe die Kombination seitdem.

This look is so simple, but this new shirt dress has such a pretty color and looks awesome. I can see myself wearing this all Winter! Paired with my skinny jeans and this cozy cardigan, it is so comfortable! High-heeled broques are key for this look. They elongate the legs!

Dieser look ist einfach, aber mein neues Shirtkleid hat eine tolle Farbe und sieht einfach schön aus. I glaube, dass ich es den ganzen Winter über tragen werde. Zusammem mit meinen skinny jeans und der kuscheligen Strickjacke ist es einfach ein bequemer look! Broques mit Absatz sind dabei ein Muss, weil sie die Beine super verlängern!

Friday, Friday - Weekend, here I come!!

Another week has passed and while my American friends are in the middle of their long Thanksgiving Weekend, I have finally finished work for this week and am going to check out the opening night of the Christmas market later today. Can't wait to see the festive huts, the decorations and have my first hot "Glöggi" (punch)! I am once again wearing one of my more casual looks in this Outfit post. I guess it is only fair for a Friday!

Eine weitere Woche ist vorbei und während meine amerikanischen Freunde gerade das lange Thanksgivingwochenende genießen, bin ich froh, dass auch meine Arbeitswoche vorbei ist. Ich werde heute noch zur Eröffnung des Weihnachtsmarkts gehen und freue mich schon sehr auf die festlich geschmückten Hütten, die Dekorationen und meinen ersten heißen Glühwein in diesem Jahr. Ich trage wieder mal ein etwas legereres Outfit, aber ich denke, dass es zum Freitag passt.

Falling Leaves and a festive mood

It has been so grey and dreary these past weeks. Oh, how I miss the golden light and the colorful Autumn leaves. Now I wish for snow every day, as it would lighten up this grey weather a bit. I always start getting moody in this time of year. One more week and the Christmas season will be in full swing. I can't wait to decorate the house and enjoy the festive spirit everywhere. Today, two days after Sunday in commemoration of the dead, I am finally allowed to start decorating our place. We even started listening to Christmas songs! And, wow, it snowed today for the first time!

Es ist seit einigen Wochen extrem grau und düster draußen. Wie ich das goldene Licht und die bunten Herbstblätter an den Bäumen vermisse. Jetzt wünsche ich mir einfach nur Schnee, weil er das graue Wetter ein bisschen aufhellen würde. Ich werde immer ein bisschen deprimiert zu dieser Zeit des Jahres. Noch eine Woche und die Weihnachtszeit ist in vollem Gange. Ich kann es kaum noch erwarten, das Haus zu dekorieren und die festliche Stimmung zu genießen. Heute, zwei Tage nach dem Totensonntag, darf ich nun endlich anfangen, zu dekorieren. Wir haben sogar schon die ersten Weihnachtslieder gehört. Und man mag es kaum glauben, aber heut hat es dann doch endlich geschneit!

Diese Bilder wurden vor dem Wintereinbruch gemacht. Wir waren auf einem Herbstspaziergang im Wald unterwegs und hatten Spaß in den Laubhaufen. Ich durfte Mr.B sogar unter einem Berg von Blättern vergraben!

How do you like my new shades? When I got my new purple glasses, I decided to also get a new pair of shades. I was so happy when I found this similar pair by Ray Ban at my local optician. It has the vintage vibe that I love and I got the glasses with my prescription for a bargain.

Wie findet ihr meine neue Sonnenbrille? Als ich meine neue lila Brille gekauft habe, entschied ich mich gleichzeitig für eine neue Sonnenbrille in der gleichen Stärke. Ich war so glücklich, als ich die Sonnenbrille von Ray Ban fand, die nicht nur meiner lila Brille sehr ähnlich sieht, sondern auch einen vintage vibe ausstrahlt.

Walking casually through November

I really enjoy dressing up, but sometimes casual just feel right as well. I try to look put together at work, but sometimes I go with the flow and take advantage of "Casual Friday". Now during the grey November days, I just want to get home, snuggle up on the couch with a big hot chocolate and read a good book. When going a bit more casual to work, it feels a lot easier to get rid of the work thoughts in my mind and jump right onto the sofa when I arrive home. No clothes changing needed!

Ich mag es sehr, mich hübsch zu machen, aber manchmal ist ein lässiger und bequemer Look auch sehr schön. Ich versuche für die Arbeit immer etwas besser angezogen zu sein, aber manchmal passe ich mich auch an und nutze den "Casual Friday". Während der grauen Novembertage will ich immer ganz schnell nach Hause gehen, um es mir auf der Couch mit einer heißen Schokolade und einem guten Buch gemütlich zu machen. Wenn ich also etwas bequemer gekleidet zur Arbeit gehe, gehts am Nachmittag schneller und ich kann direkt auf die Couch springen, ohne mich vorher umziehen zu müssen :)

Follow the tracks

November is flying by and Christmas is fast approaching. I an extremely busy at work and it seems every person in our close circle of friends has their birthday this month. Busy times, but I am glad that Mr.B and I manage to have some quiet moments from time to time as well. We enjoy our walks along the tracks and have fun exploring the area. I recently did a little photo shooting with my friends there as well. It's always great to go back there.

Der November scheint nur so vorbeizufliegen und Weihnachten steht bald vor der Tür. Derzeit gibt es viel auf der Arbeit zu tun und es scheint, dass all unsere Freunde und engen Verwandten im November Geburtstag haben. Die Wochen sind voll. Zum Glück schaffen Mr.B und ich es trotzdem noch immer ein paar ruhige Momente miteinander zu verbringen. Ein besonderer Moment ist zum Beispiel ein Spaziergang an den alten Eisenbahnschienen. Dort habe ich vor kurzem auch ein paar Fotos von einem befreundeten Paar gemacht. Es ist immer schön dorhin zurückzukehren.

During our last walk, I wore my cape once again. It really has been one of  my greatest thrifting finds. Thick woolen fabric and good quality is hard to find nowadays. I think a good woolen coat or cape can only be found very rarely these days. The big designers do produce nice coats, but who can afford them without having to go into dept?! I prefer well-cared for vintage. The clothes are still well-made and probably fit better as well as the sizes have changed so much these past years. I do adore all those coats at Zara, but they never fit me with my long arms and my hourglass figure. All you tall ladies out there, go thrifting for pieces from the past eras. Während unseres letzten Spaziergangs habe ich mal wieder mein vintage Cape getragen. Es war wirklich eines meiner besten Flohmarktfünde. Dicke Wollstoffe mit guter Qualität sind heute nur noch schwer zu finden. I glaube, man findet gute Wollmäntel und Capes fast nur noch bei den großen Designern, muss sich aber dafür dann gleich in Schulden stürzen. Da bevorzuge ich doch gute Vintageware. Diese Kleidung wurde noch sorgsam produziert und durch die anderen Größen passen die Kleider oft besser. I liebe die schönen Mäntel bei Zara, aber sie passen mir fast nie, die Ärmel sind zu kurz und für meine Sanduhrfigur sind die meisten Stücke zu klein. Ich empfehle allen großen Frauen, in die Second-Hand Läden zu gehen und vielleicht findet sich dort ja der Heilige Gral.
