Summer brings outfit variety

Summer gives me more options when it comes to dressing for work. I love my skirts and it is easy to add some color and prints to any look. This was an outfit that I wore late last week. The skirt is one of my new favourites and I paired the laced print with some dots and my apricot trench thar has been a great addition for several seasons already.

It's always fun to combine closet classics with new treasures and this is certainly one of those combinations. I know the look is not so "summery" for some, but it is definitely getting warmer these days.

You've really gained some great print and pattern mixing skills. Dressing for the temperature is always better than sticking to rigidly seasonal choices!
It would be great to see you comment more broadly, yourself ... you have excellent taste!

thank you so much for the compliment. I really think it is one of my favourite outfits for a while!

Hey Jenn

thx so much for that sweet compliment. It's all trial and error as well and works nicely most the times. But this time, I felt really comfortable.
And thx for that nice comment about my pictures. Actually I don't use a tripod and remote, even though I got both at home. But in the end the pictures are just too stiff when doing it with a tripod and/or it takes loads of time to re-adjust it. I am one of those lucky girls with a talented guy behind the camera, though it wasn't his idea. I am really into photography and he haspicked it up on the way. I normally direct him and he knows me so well, knows what I want in my pictures.
The camera is a Canon 550D and I have had it for 2,5 years with no troubles at all. The lense is a EOS 50mm 1.4 and worth every cent. I have gotten the tip to buy a relatively good but cheap camera and invest in the quality lenses. I will upgrade to a better camera on day (maybe one with a movable screen and some more tools), but this one is doing a
great job now.
Are you looking into buying a SLR?

thx so much Jan! Really am glad you like the look. Yes, you are right, I should comment a bit more. I feel always terrible as this time of year work is extremely stressful and I read the blogs on my phone. Commenting doesn't work with the bad train connection. But I really need to give some of the ladies a shoutout. Thanks for the little wake up!!

Hey Anja, I've ordered a Canon 650D (they had a good sale on a lens bundle for it) and I'm excited for it to arrive! I plan on sticking with the 50mm 1.8 for now - is the 1.4 significantly better?

Hey Jenn

The 650D sounds good! It is a great one to start with a SLR. I am looking into buying a 50D or 60D sometime soon. I think the 50mm 1.8 is ok, but I have read a lot of reviews on both, the 1.8 and 1.4. There is a significant difference in the sharpness on the edges and the outside of the lense is higher quality with the 1.4. I guess you can call it longer lasting. I don't mind the 1.8 imn any case and I think most pictures that I have seen, look pretty and I couldn't see too big differences, but it depends on how you want to use it. I think for fashion blogging it is quite good, but I really just wanted to treat myself with a great lense. In the end, even lenses by brands like sigma and nissin are fine, just depends on your needs.
Hope to see some pictures taken with the new camera and lense!
